“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33
Even ‘understanding.’
As we all hunker down. (I’m currently still working.) I have been having ‘thoughts.’
These thoughts are made aware by a kind of skill, or intuition I have developed during my life experience. You may not like how I acquired it. I believe I have developed because of the sexual abuse I experienced as a young child. Here is how my ‘intuition’ manifests itself.
As I work with people, one on one, or in a group of followers and leaders… if someone tells me, “Just go along with it,” or if they won’t take the time to answer my questions and they keep saying, “That’s not important, just do it, don’t worry about it.” Well… that’s when the brakes come on, and like an old stubborn burro in an old cowboy western… I stop… and no amount of yanking, pulling, cussing, threats of violence… or the occasional shovel handle, is going to make me budge one inch.
I can ‘feel’ when I’m being pushed into a corner and I don’t like it.
A couple of thoughts have come up while we go through this world wide pandemic.
- We have all been confined to our homes… gathered up, and this has me thinking about the times God had people holed up either to save them… as in the case of the Passover, or… to deliver them into the hands of a king, judge or general… case in point, the town of Jericho was bottled up and delivered unto Joshua. (and the walls came tumbling down)
- Sleight of hand… the very foundation of all magic tricks. While one hand shows you the cards, the other hand is lifting your wallet. The oldest trick in the book… “Lookest thou there.”
I’m not sure what exactly the other shoe will be after the medical crisis has passed and how that will affect everyday people.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12
I think we have been exposed to the fact that we are entirely too dependent upon China as a supplier of cheap goods and crucial medicines… to the point of it being a national security risk.
We have been in a spiritual war… for sure, and a worldly trade war… well before the COVID-19 outbreak.
Here are few insights from an ancient Chinese text concerning war…
“In Taoist terms, success is often gained by not doing, and the strategy [found in] The Art of War is as much in knowing what NOT to do and when not to do it, as it is to know WHAT to do and when to do it.”
General Zhuge Liang – “Be aware of when to advance and when to withdraw, adapt [take advantage] to the timing of circumstances.”
Sun Tzu – The Art of War – “A military operation involves deception.” “…secrecy and misdirection are considered essential arts.” “…key to victory is intimate knowledge of the actual situation.”
As I looked to God he gave me this word of his… Psalm 46

I don’t know intimately what is going on… but God does.
