Either to put it away, or to run with it.
Well, it’s beginning to look a little bit like Christmas.
After so much soul searching this year reviewing those things from my childhood that have caused me pain, I’ve decided to look at those things that have caused me joy also.
My personality appreciates consistency, steadfastness, and some traditions, for tradition sake.
This time of year reminds me of how much of a t.v. kid I was when I was little.
And how much I leaned on it for some consistency and steadfastness in my life.
If you’ve been reading me this year you have read about my relationship with my dad, and I’ve shared my internal turmoil and my dealings with that… Thank You for hanging in there with me… I appreciate that.
If you’ve ever crossed a river, that was up to your arm pits, and you were carrying a day pack, or back pack of some kind… you understand where I was this year while working on myself.
You may have had a small feeling that I might be lost in it all.
Have no fear… I waded in neck deep on purpose! That river needed crossin’ and I didn’t have a boat!
The past year may have looked negative, or sad, or down… heck, even kinda whiny at times, I’m ok with that take.
But I had to do that work, I had to put in the reps to gain the strength to actually move myself forward… and there is great gains to be made working out in water, water work allows for a measured resistance.
So here we are standing on the other side of that… soaked to the bone… mentally reflexive… clear of mind, and heart.
And there it is… laying on the ground… tossed aside, and why? Because it’s old? It’s quaint? It’s old fashioned? It’s too divisive?
The baton in question? A Charlie Brown Christmas Special.
You could set your watch by it when I was a little kid… every year… for years and years… explaining the true meaning of Christmas… like the Bible says, “from the mouths of children you have ordained praise.”
If they won’t play it on t.v. consistently, steadfastly, then I’d like it to be the first thing I pick up on this side of that cold river. (I know I’ve written about this before, but today it’s with purpose, because I feel it’s a good baton to pick up)
So I offer to you the true meaning of Christmas.
“a multitude of the heavenly host” I love that line, I love all those lines… you can find it in full at

Merry Christmas,
May this Word be a blessing upon you, and those you love.
