“Stick to the plan!”
“No, we can’t. We need more time!”
“Just hold on!”
“No! I gotta go!”
Ever hear that in a movie. Or something like it.
Usually turns out bad for the dude who doesn’t stick to the plan.
I stuck to the plan just now concerning this post. And just realized how my day today plays into it’s writing.
As ‘The Emerging Man’, one of the changes in my life has been building some healthy habits around eating and exercising. They are getting set. I meet with a health coach provided by my day job once a month or so and I gain specific insight each time we meet.
The guys at work have seen me getting healthy.
Today one of my co- workers was checking my fortitude and temptation meter by offering me deserts at lunch. As we were walking out of the cafe I jokingly hollered at him as he was coming up behind me, “I’m not biting!”
Now this evening as I was preparing to get to work writing, I had an idea of what I would write about. A friend I have in Haiti. It will be a post and a good one but I had a talk with God yesterday about meeting my writing goal for the month and he showed me I had enough time if I could average two posts a day through the 30th.
By using my daily journal notes he showed me we had plenty to talk about and get us through the month.
That was the plan…
sit down and just write what was already written.
The story about my friend was not planned or thought out.
So I stopped myself and looked in my notebook and Wah and La!!
I was rewarded with a confirmation from Friday November 4th 2016 concerning my writing.
Question from my writing coach, “Why do you write?”
My answer, “Because it glorifies God. He has shown me that writing is my field of endeavor.”
Today, Tuesday March 7th, in my morning time with God he gave me a picture from His Word, “a field of lentils”.
Do you know that story? Of Shammah… 2 Samuel 23:11-12
11 “Now after him was Shammah the son of Agee a Hararite.
And the Philistines were gathered into a troop
where there was a plot of ground full of lentils,
and the people fled from the Philistines.
12Â But he took his stand in the midst of the plot,
defended it and struck the Philistines;
and the LORD brought about a great victory.…”
The Lord has shown me that my life and my writing are my worship and ministry to Him, for Him and with Him.
From my writing I can “go forth” and “spread the word”.
God will draw in those who need to hear it.
I need only be faithful to the plan.
So again… from November 2016
Question from my writing coach, “Why do you write?”
My answer,
“Because it glorifies God.
He has shown me that writing is my field of endeavor.”
Thank You Lord.
