On the 24th of October I went live with my first book,
‘Killing Suicide’.
You can find it at the createspace.com e-store, Amazon and Kindle.
I have been blessed with some great feedback and support already after only three days and there have been a dozen sale’s so I guess I’m a professional writer!
I hope the book finds it way to the people who need it. Because we are out there. It seems from some comments made about it that my openness to talk about it has peoples attention.
I told a friend today, “Of course I’ll say something, I don’t care, but in a good way, I don’t care the right way now, I just hope it helps.”
Here is a page from the book ‘Killing Suicide’.
My personal search for my manhood and success would lead me into a closer relationship with God the Father.
I’ve come to know Jesus as my King, Master and Brother.
I’ve also had the pleasure of getting to know The Holy Spirit, a teacher for the ages.
Coming into the Presence of God, he revealed my life’s endeavor and my spiritual witness. We as believers are all called to believe in and witness to his son Jesus of Nazareth, by way of Bethlehem, who was put to death on a cross for the remission of sin.
And if we are given a clearer specific message, we are to witness to the other message, obediently and boldly. Like Jonah taking Gods message to Nineveh.
My witness is to the darkness, experienced by way of a severe depression and suicidal thoughts and actions.
A darkness that I have been made aware of that others are suffering, have suffered with and continue to suffer from, that God has revealed to me is the darkness that separates us from God and will utterly separate us from God on The Day of The Lord.
God wants me to witness to this fact, and it has me scared for those suffering with being separated from Him, scared that they may never be joined with Him and continue to refuse Him.
I have an urgent need to talk to you about this.
This is for you, I see you, God see’s you!
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention indicates …
- 7 out of 10 suicides are white males
- highest rate of instance is in men aged 45 – 64
An article at www.nytimes.com indicates, “suicide rate surges to a 30 year high”
“middle age men rose 43%… sharpest increase for males of any age.”
The National Center for Health Statistics indicate…
- suicide rate rose 24% from 1999 – 2014 with men and women aged 45 -64 having the sharpest increase.
The information out there is pretty clear, suicide effects all ages, all creeds, all colors.
The last 30 years has seen an increase.
I am not here to debate any particular set of numbers, but would like to point out and use the men my age as the topic of discussion.
You could say that there are multiple factors for the marked increase in the last 30 years of men committing suicide and struggling with depression.
Mine are not clinical findings.
Mine are personal experience and a revelation from God.
What is one thing that has happened to every male in the last 30 to 35 years… (experienced)
- he has grown into MANHOOD, and doesn’t know what to do with it!
What this lost generation has experienced spiritually is…
- a famine of the word of God
- New International Version  Amos 8:11
“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land– not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
We have a whole generation of men who do not know how to be the Godly leader of their family.
We really have no clue on the responsibilities of a man as God has designed them.
We do not know how to be a husband. (look up divorce rates, or better yet, those living together but not getting married)
We do not know how to be fathers to our kid’s. (“Fifteen million U.S. children, or 1 in 3, live without a father,” The Washington Times)
(Note: My youngest son who is graduating soon just had a visit to an area prison for school, 4 out of the 5 speakers, inmates, had what in common? All races and ages… No dad!)
We do not know how to take a place of service within our communities. (Check out your local Lions Club)
We expect everything to just work out, blindly blaming anything that doesn’t go our way as, “not our fault.”
We grew up in the age and culture of, Sex and Drugs and Rock ‘n Roll!
God does say, “a famine of hearing the word…”
He still sends his word, “like the rain and snow that fall from heaven”, he still had people out there preaching, the bible is still the best selling book in America.
Found this on www.thinkaboutit.com
“The Bible is often said to be the world’s best sold book but search the best seller lists and you won’t find it anywhere, top to bottom.
It makes you wonder.
If it’s a best seller why isn’t it on the list? Well, the answer is simple.
The annual sales figures for the Bible are so high, averaging between $425m and $650m, repeatedly – year after year – that it dwarfs the sales of all other books. The best any other book can hope for is second place and a very distant second place at that.”
In His Word, God squarely places, the responsibility of knowing, living and passing along his word, on the shoulders of the fathers, of any and all generations.
