This poem is to remember my mom and dad.
Written on purpose to be obedient to the fifth commandment.
Let me tell you a little about my folks.
John and LeAnn Bosquez.
My mom was a city girl turned farm girl turned city girl. Who once she fell in love with “the farm” the farm and country never left her, even when she had to move into town. She was always gardening. And Black Eyed Susan’s were her favorite.
My dad was known for his nickname ‘Johnny Walleye’.
If you live in Wisconsin you know all about the spring walleye run, if you don’t – well I’m sorry to hear that. But my dad caught walleye’s all the time it seemed to me. He would come home in the middle of summer or the week before deer season in the fall with a pail full.
He passed away when my two older boys were little. But later in life my son Cole kept his memory alive by giving him an updated nickname during a family discussion one time. During the convo he piped in with “Yea, Ol’ Johnny Dubs wouldn’t be having any o’ that!”
Cracked me right up! Johnny Dubs!
So…  if  ‘To Honor is To Remember’ then this one is for mom and dad. Thanks Mom. Thanks Dad.
As mom sowed seeds
And dad cast lines
Sow Cast I
For JesusÂ
