Looking at my repaired bathroom walls I had a thought.
While I was looking at the new bathroom walls where they meet the old walls, see I didn’t do a complete remodel, I only replaced the inner valve, fixtures, drywall and paint around the tub that had deteriorated over time around five children, I noticed because of the new white paint the flaws around where the walls meet are, sorry to say, quite visible in the light, if you look right at them.
So my thought was this, “Maybe that is why God is going to give us white clothes when we go to be with him.”
4 “Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5 The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.” ~ Revelation 3:4,5
I know white stands for purity and righteousness and the Bible says,
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” ~ Isaiah 1:18
But I thought…
if we are all in white, like the bathroom walls, we will not be able to hide all of our flaws from one another, like we do now, in the light of God that illuminates heaven all things are visible.
I know for myself I’m going to be too busy with God to notice your flaws and I trust in the blood of Christ as my covering that makes it possible for me to wear my white clothes.
What is that wardrobe rule about wearing white after Labor Day?
We don’t wear white now because we are afraid of getting our clothes dirty, like the time my sister-in-law had a nice hot pan of pasta and pasta sauce dumped on her and her white pants!
It’s nice to imagine being with God and not caring or worrying about the silly little things we worry about now because we are afraid of a little dirt and what others think of that dirt.
When you look at other people what dirt of theirs make’s you the most uncomfortable???
