Like a boxer preparing for a fight, there are things he does the same like road work for stamina but then there is specific preparation for the fighter he is facing i.e.
- is he taller
- is he shorter
- heavier or lighter
- what’s his reach
- righty or lefty
- aggressive and applies pressure
- is defensive and moves around a lot
- does he have a good left hook
- etc etc etc
We are to read the bible the same way
- morning – road work = Psalms
- afternoon – work out = Romans
- evening – film study = Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
To know an opponent you need to studying him.
Same with getting to know Jesus – spend time with him, talk with him, spar with him, run with him, walk with him.
Then you might be able to say you know him.
Then when you learn something from him, put it into practice.
Why do you think the bible describes the right hand of God all the time?
