“It doesn’t matter how badly you want something, ACTION is the interpretation of your desire and the very key to any success.”
I found this quote at brainpick.com.
What’s the old saying… “I want it so bad I can taste it!”
I like being older and wiser now. In my earlier days I was a bit too anxious to “get going” when I had a new project under way.
As I assess my success… to date… I find myself taking in more videos, old movies and reading more books than ever before.
(I have a little side goal… after this years political unrest… I want to study the Bill of Rights, and our Constitution, more in depth.)
One of the gentleman I have found is Gary Vaynerchuk.
https://www.garyvaynerchuk.com/
He was doing a spot on the Steve Harvey show and had this to say… “You need to determine if you are, truly, an entrepreneur… OR… a person with entrepreneurial TENDENCIES.”
I find myself in a personal quandary…
Am I truly an entrepreneur… or… do I just have entrepreneurial tendencies?
When I look at my re-branding effort to become a writer I find it hard to “go whole hog” on getting another JOB, even if it is in writing.
I do my personal projects. I have 3 websites up and running and continue to search for freelance opportunities.
BUT… I’m not pushing hard at all.
My youngest son, the wise one, said, “You are doing the work of a writer; you just need to clarify your idea of what “being successful” is for you.”

If I’m a writer… and I’m here for you… and NOT me… my personal character would tell me that if I end up helping you then that is “being successful.”
AND… any monetary gains, or writing industry accolades… would then be “icing” on the cake.
When I think of “making more of a business” out of my writing… I get scared that I wouldn’t be able to meet my clients needs professionally.
And I used to fix peoples brakes on their cars!
I know this is a growing pain.
I have some more developing to do in order to get to a point where I would be comfortable “working for somebody else” by providing writing services.

Becoming self aware has been the best growth stage so far.
I know I’m having these feelings… now I just have to do all of the “work” God placed man in the garden of Eden to do… things like pruning, cultivating, weeding, watering, mulching, and trimming up any weak branches of thoughts or skills I have.
If you’re working on a personal project, and are stuck… have you assessed your own, personal, self awareness?
Do you know how to?
Here is a question in your reach for “Success” are you more afraid of failure, or are you more afraid that you will actually succeed and all the work that success brings to maintain that level of commitment.
Many people dream of starting a small business but if it really takes off and grows they often actually fear the commitment it will take from them more than if it fails. Most are familiar with failure and in the back of our mind may even expect to fail, how many of us expect to be wildly successful?
